Hurghada International Airport is located 5 km to the southwest of Hurghada city center “Al Dahar District”. The airport consists of two passenger buildings, the old one, with a capacity of 5 million and 500 thousand passengers annually, and the new one, with a capacity of 7 and a half million passengers annually, bringing the total airport capacity to 13 million passengers annually, at a rate of 115%. The new building was established in 5 years at a total cost of 3.2 billion pounds, with the aim of eliminating the accumulation of tourists at peak times in the travel halls of the old airport building. It covers an area of 92 thousand square meters, and contains 3 floors for travel, access and services, and is equipped with 72 A counter to finalize travel and arrival procedures, 20 departure gates and a duty-free market area. The new building includes an aircraft corridor with a length of 4 km and a width of 75 meters that can receive giant aircraft, and has an air field located on an area of 425,000 meters that contains 16 aircraft sites, including 2 sites for giant aircraft. Bringing the total number of aircraft sites at the airport to 52 sites. The new terminal accounts for 45% of the total operating flights at the airport, and all European and domestic flights are transferred to it, except for flights from Russia, which are received by the old building. The airport provides regular shuttle services to Cairo and offers direct flights to many European destinations. More than 40 different airlines offer seasonal flights to Eastern and Western European cities, Scandinavia and Russia.
